What is the Difference between Academy and Youth League?

Academy: Best for those who have never played or have very little beach volleyball experence.

  • We highly encourage anyone under the age of 15 who has not played beach volleyball before to register for the Academy as there are many differences between indoor and beach. The Acacemy is for teaching athletes how to play beach volleyball and building up their skills and decision making ability. We make sure to implement gameplay at the end of each session to apply skills learned to gameplay situations.

Youth League: Best for experenced players who want to apply exsisting skills.

  • Athletes who register for the Youth League have usually gone through the Academy for a summer and now want to apply the skills learned into gameplay situations. There is little coaching duirng youth league and athletes are expected to ref their own games per Volleyball Canada guidelines.
